Rebuild Fort Natomas

The Sacramento City Council has approved spending to rebuild a Natomas playground that burned down twice in the past two years.
In unanimously approving funding to rebuild the Fort Natomas playground, the council also chose to locate it in South Natomas Community Park rather than its previous home at Jefferson Park. The panel also approved $425,000 to develop a new plan and first-phase improvements for Jefferson Park.
Fire destroyed the huge Fort Natomas play structure on May 26. A 17-year-old boy who was arrested allegedly set the blaze to keep warm, authorities said.
